Adventist Community Services-
Adventist Community Services does more than supply material needs for the community. Donna Lane was baptized December 22, 2007. Her life is an inspiration to all who dedicate their life to the service of others through Community Service. A couple of years ago, Donna helped a friend move to Sequim. Since her life was full of difficulties and living in deplorable conditions, her friend talked her into staying and making Sequim her new home town. Her plan was only to drive her friend and then return so she did not bring much clothing with her. Lack of funds, little clothing and food and in need of housing, her friend brought her to Community Services at the Sequim Adventist Church. Each week Donna would come to pick up needed necessities. And as she did so she became acquainted with several of the volunteers. Because of their smiles and the warmth of friendship and love shown to her she desired to know more about this church and what was being taught. She started Bible studies with Community Service volunteer couple, Maureen and Roger Dowling, and soon started coming to church. Over the past two years, watching others being baptized Donna felt a longing to also be baptized. With talking to pastor Dale Kongorski, it was decided since we would soon be celebrating the birth of Christ we could also celebrate a new birth for Donna, giving a special gift to Jesus-Donna‚Äôs heart.
